The oval mercury glass plates housed within ornate rococo carved and pierced gilt wood frames, composed of ‘C’ scrolls, flowering branchwork, and stylised acanthus leaves.

The design for these mirrors is derived from the original drawing by Thomas Chippendale in his The Gentleman & Cabinetmaker’s Director of 1762 (3rd ed.), on Plate CLXVIII, as “Oval Glass Frames.”<\/span><\/p>\n
