This is a fine and rare pair of miniature Mason’s ironstone Vases or Urns, hand painted in in the beautiful “Fence, Rock and Gold Flower” pattern, which we date to circa 1820.
Miniature or toy items of Masons ironstone are hard to find today.
The pieces are well potted as baluster vases or urns, having two loop side handles and raised on a circular foot.
The pattern is called ” Fence, rock and Gold Flower ” which is beautifully hand painted in bold enamels and rich hand gilding as illustrated on page 89 of Mason’s pattern book published by the Mason’s collectors club.
Both pieces are unmarked as was often the case with these miniature pieces, but they are definitely by Mason’s.
Overall a very beautiful pair of small vases.
