This is a rare miniature Mason’s ironstone Lidded Urn or Vase in the beautiful Gold Rose Japan pattern, which we date to circa 1820.
Miniature or toy items of Masons ironstone are hard to find today.
This piece is well potted as a baluster vase or urn with two high loop handles and complete with a lid having a knob top.
The pattern is called ” Gold Rose Japan ” which is beautifully hand painted in bold enamels and rich hand gilding as illustrated on page 90 of Mason’s pattern book published by the Mason’s collectors club.
The piece is unmarked but is definitely by Mason’s.
Overall a beautiful rare piece for the cabinet.
