The pioneer 151 series of modern limited express trains, nicknamed “Kodama” and “Business Limited Express”, appeared on the Tokaido Main Line as Moha 20 series in 1958 with 8-car trains, and the title regulations of 1959. It was renamed to 151 series by revision.
In the June 1960 revision, the passenger car limited express “Tsubame” was changed to 151 series. The Parlor Carcro 151 was newly manufactured as a vehicle to replace the observation car, which was also a symbol of the predecessor passenger car formation, and it became a luxurious formation that incorporates 5 first-class cars, connecting Tokyo and Osaka in 6 hours and 30 minutes.
Please enjoy the brave figure of the “Kodama-shaped” limited express train 151 series that ran on the Tokaido main line of yesteryear and its beautiful formation.
