Chippendale tea caddy, c1770, burl veneered mahogany paneled front and sides with cross banded border raised on original ball and claw cast brass feet. The two interior compartments, each with a hinged burled mahogany cross-banded lid, still retain some of the original tinned interior. The top is lined with original red leather and cross-banded veneer. In the center compartment there is a crystal mixing bowl. The top has the original silver plated bail handle. Retains the original key. Head and shoulders above the majority of tea caddies on the market.
