Postmodern Style Table Designed by Jonas Bohlin This table, designed by Jonas Bohlin, is made of lacquered steel, concrete, and glass. It embodies the expressive language of the designer, utilizing eclectic, industrial-inspired materials that brought him international fame. This table, like his most renowned piece, the “Concrete” chair, is made of steel and concrete. Despite its broad proportions, the use of structure, with a vivid red line and trapezoidal glass, lends lightness to the piece. Series Information While not limited, this series has fewer than 100 units. It was produced by the company Källemo, Sweden. Condition Very good vintage condition. The concrete of the table has its natural patina from the passage of time, adding a unique character to the piece. Dimensions Height approx. 22 inches Length 59 inches Width 8-31 inches About the Designer Jonas Bohlin, born in Stockholm, has become one of Sweden’s most prominent designers. His “Concrete” chair has achieved cult status. Educated at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design Konstfack in Stockholm, Bohlin has worked since 1983 in glassware, textiles, art objects, installations, and furniture and lighting design. Bohlin has been a design professor at Konstfack and director of the design program at Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm. His work has received numerous awards and has been exhibited worldwide.

A Bertha Schaefer for M. Singer Sons Occasional table. The natural travertine marble supported by sculptural walnut legs. A rolled lip keeps the travertine in place and mimics the arched curve of the legs. The walnut is a gorgeous Italian walnut with great highlighted sap grain. This example unlabelled.

This table would work well alongside the works of Gio Ponti, Vladimir Kagan, Robsjohn Gibbings, Tommi Parzinger, Edward Wormley, Etc

Condition:

Recently restored and shows very well>. The walnut has been sanded and oiled with a danish tung oil. The travertine showing natural pores and original filler. Shows very well.
