This mahogany secretary opens at the waist with a knockout drawer, highlighted with brass ogee strips, fitted with an authentic lock and drop handles.
Below, the framed flap, dark with a single panel also with knockout, is also equipped with a functional original lock with brass entry.
This flap is held open by two iron and brass compasses.
The interior, dark with pine green leather with central motif, cold stamp and gold, offers seven small drawers as well as a shelf offering two identical storage spaces.
This period piece of furniture has, in the lower part, a double door in the same spirit and with a joint cover concealing a shelf.
The uprights are joined half-columns with grooves ending in spinning top feet.
The Belgian granite marble with projection is in perfect condition.
More than a simple secretary, this 18th century creation reflects the mastery of cabinetmakers under the reign of Louis XVI.

The exquisite base having an exceptional cross banded fall opening to reveal an outstandingly designed and crafted fully fitted interior with drawers including secret drawers, pigeon holes and shelves above an eight drawer base with a central cupboard door. It stands on original bracket feet with serpentine ends and original working keys.

This marvellous all original example has an abundance of fine features and boasts the most superior colour and patination.

Elegant Louis XV period secretary in solid cherry and pear wood.
there were few Louis XV secretaries and above all they are almost all made of veneer wood, this one is made of solid wood.
The interiors are neat, the drawers with several formats give elegance and a considerable number of storage spaces available. There is a discreet slider in the lower part which gives access to a cover underneath.
The lower crossbar is nicely sculpted and scrolled.
The patina is light and golden, the top is lined with golden leather.
