Vintage Design

Living room designed by Gio Ponti for Isa Bergamo.

Elegant living room composed of a three-seater sofa and two armchairs with high backrests and refined curved lines with an unmistakable design.

Made in the 1950s, they excellently represent the refined and sober style of the time.

Designed by Gio Ponti one of the greatest Italian architects and designers, who dictated the style of post-war Italian design and who still today sets a precedent for innovation, creativity and beauty.

Produced by ISA Industria Salotti e Arredamenti founded in the late 1940s in Ponte San Pietro, a small village outside Bergamo.

In the 1950s, thanks to the success achieved by producing based on designs by great designers such as Gio Ponti and Guglielmo Veronesi, ISA increased production until it had 400 workers.

The living room is in an excellent state of conservation, the wooden structure is original and intact and has no defects.

The upholstery has just been replaced with a steel blue and intense forest green silk velvet which makes it modern but at the same time classic and elegant.

This living room is a piece of design history, they can be combined with both modern and antique furnishings.

Magnificent set of 6 English Chippendale chairs in black lacquered wood. The seats are upholstered in a modern fabric with geometric shapes. The whole thing is very decorative.
These chairs are wonderful 19th century English work in the perfect Chippendale style.
This style is similar to the Italian Baroque and French Rococo style, under Louis XV.
This set of chairs, English antiques, is full of charm and perfectly furnishes all types of interior.

England – 19th

Thomas Chippendale was a renowned English cabinetmaker of the mid-18th century. Its baroque-inspired style like Louis XV draws on the Gothic, Chinese, and rocaille ornamental repertoire at the same time.
This cabinetmaker and furniture manufacturer, born in 1718 and died in 1779, left a lasting mark on the style of 18th century English furniture. Associated with furniture designer Matthias Lock, he will manufacture furniture inspired by French rocaille, medieval Gothic ornaments and interpretations of “Chinese”. Its seat with a slender, openwork wood back, twisted and over-cut represents the style that took its name.
The very characteristic Chippendale chair can be recognized by its heavily perforated rectangular backrest and its flared uprights. The central motif represents either Gothic-inspired fenestration, Chinese-inspired openwork lattices, Rococo intertwining and arabesques or pretty ribbon patterns. Its back is generally topped with facing scrolls. The legs take the shape of a cabriole at the front and are inclined saber-shaped at the rear.

Breathtaking & rare. This Living room set consisting of 2 model: F181 lounge chairs and the extra rare 2 seater sofa model: D181 from the Square line series designed by Kho Liang Le in collaboration with Theo Ruth, Frans Bergs & Jacques Weijenbergh for Artifort in 1958. The pieces from the square line series are most difficult to find and were only produced in small numbers.
Superb clean lined design that takes its inspiration from Japan.
They look amazing from any angle and elevate your space to a new level.
The set has been re-upholstered with high quality wool from ‘T spectrum. in its original colours. Each piece is marked with metal Artifort tags underneath.

We were not able to find 1 coloured picture of the D181 2-seater sofa after doing a lot of research this is the only one we have come across in years and years. The set comes from the lobby of a hotel in Amsterdam.
Museum worthy collectable set that looks simply stunning and displays the essence of Dutch mid-century design at its finest.
