Small vintage mid 20th century Akira Matsumoto (b. 1936) Japan abstract woodblock print. Signed, numbered 106/200 in pencil along lower margin. Unframed, age toning, with old mat toning.

A 1969 abstract serigraph print signed by the artist Felice. Abstract circular shapes and layering of color give the work a sense of dimensionality. Signed and dated to the lower right, this print is displayed in a gold-tone wooden frame with an off-white double mat.

A 1970 serigraph print titled Some (Visual) Afterthoughts on the Boston Massacre by American artist Larry Rivers (1923-2002). The work has neon pink and green colors, with detailed depictions of British soldiers on the right side. The print is signed “Rivers” and numbered 85/150 to the lower left and displayed in a black frame with a white mat.

Larry Rivers was an artist, musician, and filmmaker who is recognized by many as a founder of the Pop Art movement. Born as Yitzroch Loiza Grossberg, he later changed his name to Larry Rivers while working as a jazz saxophonist under the band name “Larry Rivers and the Mudcats.” He studied at the Hans Hofmann school and was a graduate of New York University’s Art Education program in 1951.

Franklin Galambos
Born: 1944, Norristown, PA
Education: No formal education, self taught.
1967-’69: Served in the U.S. Army, assigned to the Psychological Warfare, Special Forces, J.F. Kennedy Special War Center, Ft. Bragg, N.C.; assigned U.S.A.R.V. Long Binh, Vietnam as a graphic illustrator where he was primarily involved with U.S. Army Aviation projects.
1972: Left position at commercial printing firm in Philadelphia, PA to pursue a full time career in fine art.
1978: Moved studio from King of Prussia, PA to Oley Valley, PA.
1985 to present: Expanded studio in Oley Valley to include a printing Atelier.
Franklin Galambos and his wife Leslie live in the Oley Valley of Pennsylvania. With Leslie as his studio assistant, Franklin has dedicated himself to capturing the tranquility of his surroundings in his artwork. His etchings are cherished by all collectors throughout the country due both to their imagery and technical mastery.
Many of the images are multiple copper plate etchings, carefully rubbed with several tones of black, gray, and brown ink. The plates are masterpieces of complexity and must be carefully wiped for each impression. After each print is pulled, additional colors are meticulously added with an airbrush. Franklin uses acrylic paint for the airbrushing, carefully controlling the color as he works. Some of Franklin’s etchings also include berries which are individually hand colored onto the print. Each completed piece is a quiet, almost perfect understatement about the beauty of our vanishing wilderness. A reverence for this beauty shines from each piece.
For almost twenty years, collectors have responded to Franklin’s unique body of work, making him one of the nation’s foremost printmakers. He has had numerous one man shows in galleries and is collected by a host of individuals and corporations.

A limited edition etching titled “étude” by American artist John Culik (1926-2020). This abstract etching uses a repeated fine-line design with geometric shapes in white, black, and gray. Bright white accents add dimension to the composition. The print is signed to the lower right, titled to the lower center, and numbered 3/50 to the lower left and s displayed in an gold tone and silver tone wooden frame with a white mat.
