Antique Gothic Revival ash & leather armchair desk chair, sitting on castors. English – Circa 1880.

The chair has been fully reupholstered including re-webbing and finished in a quality pigmented dark brown leather by Wildman & Bugby. It has a smooth texture and is durable. The inners all comply with fire regulations.

The stylish ash frame has line and dot carved detail. The frame has been cleaned and waxed and in very good condition, showing a few light marks with use. The chair is sturdy with no loose joints or damage.

This piece would work well as a desk chair as it has an upright feel.

Additional dimensions information:

The seat height is 52cm, there is 45cm in width in between the arms. The are heights are 70.5cm.

A stunning really early edition of this model 591 “Sculpture” chair designed by Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm for BO-EX Denmark. The previous owner was the first owner and bought the chair in the 1960s as he worked a lot for a Finnish company that time. The chair is has a beautiful patina with cognac leather seating and woven armrests. See detailed pictures for a good few. Elegant beige leather desk chair by Richard Sapper for Knoll the original leather is in good condition.
The seat is adjustable using a lever under the seat, and the backrest is slightly sprung again using a lever.
with 5 legs with smooth-running wheels.
It shows the usual signs of wear, some marks and scratches on the leather, none of these imperfections affect the functionality and beauty (see photo).
