A superb quality mid 19th Century Anglo-Indian carved hardwood cabinet, having a nice figured shaped top with a highly decorative pierced and carved upstand consisting of various foliage with an oval panel at the centre with a pair of cranes, C shapes incorporating decorative scroll at either side, the top having an intricate carved edge with a frieze below with acanthus leaf carving, a single door below opening to reveal two shelves inside, the door front profusely carved all over with further foliage, central arched panel pierced and carved with further foliage and various birds and a decorative oval panel at the centre, intricate carved columns either side incorporating mythical figure heads, fruit and scrolls, lovely shaped and carved apron and supported on further mythical figure heads. Wonderful crisp carving and in excellent condition, Circa 1840.
