An Excellent Pair of Early 19th Century French Empire Walnut Commodes with Original Marble Tops.
These commodes are of typical Empire period style, they have leaf carved trusses to the columns running through to the legs and Marlborough block feet. Constructed in walnut, and bookmatched veneers across the drawer fronts and frieze. The only metalwork on the pieces are the original drawer pulls and escutcheon plates. The tops are original marble of grey and white.
Excellent colour and patination. A fine pair of low waisted commodes.
