A profound dining table from the noteworthy Stately Homes Collection by Baker Furniture, circa 1980s. Drawing inspiration from English Chippendale and Queen Anne Styling.
The table features stunning book-matched walnut and walnut burl with inlaid herringbone satinwood and ebonized borders and a rounded rectangular top. The shaped frieze has a carved gadrooned trim and rests on cabriole legs with carved acanthus scrolled knees. The long legs terminate into large pad feet. Includes 3 leafs for extension.
Examples of this table can be found in literature as far back as 1710. ( Dictionary of English Furniture, MacQuoid and Edwards)
