Born in the mid-19th century, Chinoiserie taste, profusely decorated including hand painted polychrome floral decoration, ebonized, lacquered, parcel gilt, abalone, mother of pearl inlays, serpentine top with scalloped molded edge, tripod pedestal base with spiral turned barley twist standard, resting on three gracefully curved scroll legs.
